lost in translation

I'l long known that english is a cool language in the eyes of the swiss - particularly in advertising. When I read this advert in the tram this morning however, I couldn't help but think that they might not have put enough thought into their translation.

I'm not sure whether it's trying to disciminate against jews or whether it's a prepuce dumping ground.

As promised - an update.

Work is busy at the moment mainly because it's been injected with new life. Chicago is the code name for a new application I'm working on. Unbeknownst to most, the application is named after the success of Windows 95 - chicago being its code-name.

I'm not claiming that Windows 95 was a decent OS - it was as usable as a joystick made from a leprotic gopher. The OS however was an immense success. It paved the way to latter versions, which regardless of your computational religion or disdain for M$, are frankly nigh on the best available.

Chicago will be the same. It will create a path for others to follow. We will be the despised. We will be the rich. We will be the famous. I will be the hated. I will be der Führer.

It's defiantly pong, but not as you know it. It's hard to describe so I'll just call it swirly vortexy goodness. Try it and see.




edit: I meant to type definitely pong, but my fingers disagreed. I was going to fix it, but I'm not going to. If you play the game you'll see that defiance describes the ball motion quite well.

Sometimes I think I need a laptop but I can never decide which one I think I need. Sometimes I think powerful, other times small. This one puts the ball well inside the small court.
